Working on an Organic Farm in Exchange for Accommodation

      Since I attended PDC last year, I have been planning to work on an organic farm in return for food and accommodation this summer. At the beginning of June, I applied for two organic farms located in Hualian and Tainan. Unfortunately, they rejected my application because of their full quota of volunteers.

My Favorite Book

Do you agree what books you read can affect what you are concerned for and the way of life you are looking forward to? In the last two years I read some books about Permaculture, a term that consists of permanent, culture and agriculture. Among those books, “Learning How to Design from Nature” is my favorite book. 

Visiting My Mother

My mother suffers from scoliosis which after several years has caused muscular dystrophy. In the last 1 year she also had a tracheostomy. I visit my mother in hospital with my family almost every weekend.

The Imagination of My Future Garden

      I have been dreaming of seeing a fantastic scene of vines in my small garden. I considered that I could plant Parthenocissus tricuspidata because they can shield us from the sun in summer, and their fallen leaves can not only be organic matter but also let the sunlight of winter come into my house.

The Story about My First Exclusive Interview

      I can still remember how afraid I was that day although the first time I interviewed a female broadcaster who had got the Golden Bell Award was many years ago. I represented a monthly publication to interview her and we met in an expensive restaurant.

The Most Unforgettable Trip

  I visited the Rainbow Region of Australia with Earth Passengers for ten days last month. I was excited and had high expectations for this trip because it was my first trip abroad.

2012夏，鼓起勇氣學習英文，從英語正音課開始我中年學習英文之路。

正音課之後，繼續上老師的英文會話課，練習我最弱的聽說能力。

英文老師Corey上課幽默風趣，能模仿各種口音，常逗得大家哈哈大笑；

不過，對發音和句子的文法結構的態度，她是認真而嚴謹的。

她總真誠地與大家分享她自己在國外刻苦學英文的經驗，

她自認為自己的英文是用功和努力學來的，遇到疑難時，

她一定請教老師或同學，打破砂鍋問到底，想辦法找出答案。

也因此，她特別了解我們學英文時感到困惑和不解的地方。

鼓勵我們同時，也不厭其煩地指正我們的發音和文法。

英文會話(4)

2014春，共14週的英文會話課 ，於 5/9 結束。這一期，我只出席 6 週，缺課居然高達 8 週。

同學都問老師：「Herb呢？Herb怎麼沒來？」我有不得不的原因 (註1)，還有自己習慣早睡，

晚上上課實是一大考驗，幾次就這麼賴在家裡了。

Sock Grandmother

My favorite thing is the grandmother doll that I sewed with socks for my mother-in-law as her birthday present four years ago. 

I spent three days designing and sewing it that is short and has curly dark hair. Besides, I cut one piece of cloth to let it wear an appliqued skirt. What a beautiful and elegant grandmother! When I completed it, I could not believe that it was so lovely and really looked like my mother-in-law. 

I hoped my mother-in-law liked it. Fortunately, she likes it and has being treasured this gift which she keeps carefully in a glass box of her room.

Mount Jade is 3952 meters in height and it is the highest mountain in Taiwan.

The Person Who Has Influenced Me the Most in My Life

He showed me an unofficial medical certificate one day the year before last, and it indicated that his biological age was 47 years old. In fact, he is already 74 years old now. The secret he looks younger than his real age is that he is sound in body and mind.

   Bread, coffee and plants are indispensable in my daily life.
